Here I'm laying out all of the clock's shapes with a transparent green, then I'll add color and more later.  Most of the time, though, I think they look the best half done.

It's evolving from here.  Bolder colors and a different composition, but I think this is a nice step, even though it probably won't be used. (click to enlarge)
